Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Raise The Roof (Switching on Pop)

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Raise The Roof

In this podcast they enter guests Robert Plant mostly known as the lead singer of globally known band Led Zepplin and his partner in the album Raise the Roof, Alison Krauss. The album that both music artists have made is called Raise the Roof, fourteen years after their album Raising Sand came out as well.

Their first hit called Quatro was as Robert Plant described it as a very challenging piece.” Krauss said that this song was one of those moments where you knew where you were at the time, what you were wearing and what you were doing, a time you would never forget. It was the beginning of the record but also the impetus of the record. They explain how they noticed that the album starts off like running and that things are in action.

I like how these albums that Robert Plant produces with Alison Krauss are kind of what no expects of him, like the music that he produced while he was in Led Zepplin was vastly different to the music he produces now. And that is in no way a terrible thing if anything it is fun to have one artist give off two different vibes of music for people to enjoy. I like how in the podcast Plant says that “I don’t know because we didn’t know until we started to sing together, where it was going to go. There's nothing upfront about these songs.” It shows that they have a real talent for song writing and they let the song go where they felt it was leading them.
